Today’'s motorways and highways are dangerous environments where a rapid response to a situation is often critical. Over 90% of the Swiss road network depends on our roadside emergency telephones which connect stranded motorists with a central office. Our system can allow base operators not just to speak directly to the roadside caller but to observe the situation via remote control CCTV. The operator is able to connect to the emergency services via the TETRA network and even place them in direct contact with the motorist. More Road

We can create fully integrated communications systems that allow port operators to remotely control and coordinate complex working environments. Our versatile systems are able to operate passenger information and public address systems as well as facilitating communications between dockside managers, access points and shipping. No two ports are identical but in collaborating with port operators we can provide a communications system which meets the precise needs of a given location.More Ports

Handling high volume passenger flow is a key part of the TDM portfolio. We meet the need for high vigilance in security conscious environments and the requirement for reliable customer information from car park to airport gate. We create site specific systems which provide a communications network that puts a central operator in control of the passenger information as well as the ability to coordinate airside engineers and emergency services.More Airports

For large industrial complexes such as oil refineries and gas terminals, we offer central management of access points, public address systems and CCTV as well as remote environmental monitoring such as fire detection and accompanying alarm systems. This enables a high level of security to be maintained in large high risk areas.More Energy

Our leading edge technology operates very effectively to maintain public safety in urban city centres. As well as providing a network of public information Help Points we are also able to install monitoring systems that can detect environmental events such as landslides, fire, and flood which can be combined with a public address system to play pre-recorded emergency warnings. Central operators can also coordinate emergency services while monitoring situations on CCTV. More Public Safety

How we get half a million passengers onto two thousand trains in one day

How we get half a million passengers onto two thousand trains in one day

London’s a busy city and Clapham Junction is the busiest interchange not just here, but in all of Europe. Close to half a million passengers use the station every weekday so helping busy commuters and tourists navigate the 17 platforms quickly and easily is paramount to keeping the rail network flowing The TDM solution centers around the design and installation of a ‘Next Fastest Train’ information display in an A-Z format which augments local on-platform displays. The 43 Infotec displays feedback to a central controller either by carefully designed cabling which works with the ancient Victorian architecture or by radio transmission. With the TDM system the station manager is in a position not just to control the display of train information but to also monitor and co-ordinate passenger movements. At Clapham, we have designed and installed a complete network of CCTV cameras which are able to synchronise with passenger Help Points throughout the station. Station managers can observe passenger flow and react to live situations making announcements over the PA loudspeakers installed by TDM system as well as speak directly with ground staff via wireless communications. This comprehensive system connecting drivers, platform staff, the traveling public (and if required blue light services via TETRA), is all part of the TDM offer which delivers far more than just displaying the time of the next train. With the TDM solution in full operation, Clapham Junction is able to allow its thousands of daily passengers a clear route through the interchange to reach their destination on time and without hassle. TDM establishes Far Eastern joint venture company

Trans Data Management is pleased to announce a successful set-up of a Far Eastern operational company called Trans Data Management (M) Sdn Bhd, which is based in Malaysia. Malaysia is an ideal location for TDM, as it is strategically located in South-East Asia making it ideal for reaching the Middle-Eastern market. The country has enjoyed a long harmonious relationship with the United Kingdom and this politically and economically stable hub is quickly becoming one of the most technologically developed countries in the Asian market. The country has many infrastructure projects involving highways, airports, seaports and a railway project being planned between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. This makes the infrastructure in Malaysia one of the best developed in Asia. The resulting partnership is an outcome which will benefit both parties and we are excited to explore the Asian market with local knowledge and expertise. /

Solving the problem of station drop-off congestion

Solving the problem of station drop-off congestion

Dropping off or picking up a rail traveller by car can be an important part of the passenger experience but if drivers outstay their welcome it can lead to congestion. Our solution is simple, effective and fair to all. Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) we have successfully installed and operated a new system at the drop-off point of a major UK railway station. The innovative concept allows passengers 2 minutes to arrive, drop off and exit without causing congestion - providing a fairer deal for everyone. TDM’s fully IP-based system will monitor car number plates; internally processing the arrival and departure times and then sending the details of any vehicles that linger too long to a central database so that penalty charge notices can be issued to the vehicle owner. The ANPR software can work in normal daylight or at night using infra red to clearly pick out any number plate. Trans Data Management are looking at other stations on the rail network to develop the new system; TDM CEO Geoff Vaughan explained: ‘Congestion at drop off points by idle drivers can unfairly disrupt other passenger’s journeys. The idea allows an equal waiting time for all and we are very proud that TDM’s technology can give the concept the solution required.’ The latest installation of our technology has been so successful that the outlay for the system is being very quickly balanced by the recovery of the parking fines. We are now speaking to other customers about future deployment, if you have a situation where forecourt congestion is a problem, please call Paul Mead on 01293 516 691. /
